Aaahhh, the Balinese

beauty...

PictureA chocolate-point kitten: a sheer beauty!!
A Balinese, also known as a long-haired Siamese, is a rare but natural mutation of a purebred Siamese.  They possess a medium-length (1-3 inch), silky coat, a fluffy tail, and sapphire-blue eyes.  They have no undercoat and are practically non-shedding!

There are two distinct head shapes in Balinese. The traditional apple-head has a rounder and wider head, characteristic of a delicious apple turned on its side.  Wedge-heads have long, slinky bodies, with triangular heads, and tend to be feisty and   temperamental.  Our Balinese kittens are all the traditional apple-head.

Balinese are considered to be among the most intelligent of all long-haired cat breeds!  They are sociable, playful and inquisitive.  Some can even be trained to use a flushing toilet!

Color
Our Balinese, like Siamese, come in a variety of color points:  Seal-point,
Chocolate-point, Lilac-point, Blue-point, Tortie-point, Lynx-point and Snowshoes.  Balinese kittens are born pure white and gradually develop their color points in 4 to 6 weeks.  So please don't expect photographs until our kittens have developed their color points.

Personality
Far from aloof, these darling cats are often considered be as personable and companionable as a faithful and loyal doggie!  Balinese have gentle and loving dispositions - so gentle that they rarely ever defend themselves.  ((For that reason, they should be protected and kept indoors at all times!)  In many ways they have the personality traits of the Ragdoll breed: purring and thriving on your love and attention. They go limp in your arms when held close to your heart! Truly they are cuddle buddies!

The sweetest, most precious feature of our Balinese is their amazing sensitivity to human emotions.  They have an innate ability to perceive your many moods and respond appropriately.  If you're angry, they'll give you space, and then comfort you after you cool off a bit. If you're sad, they will shower you with tender kisses or wash away your tears with their cute little tongues!  No matter what kind of day you may be having, these little kitties have a special ability to make you feel like the most important person on Earth! And clearly, you are!  You will always be the supreme love of their life, and they will find special ways of telling you that, throughout the whole night and day!

Hypo-Allergenic
Research has indicated that Balinese cause fewer problems for people with cat allergies.  While some people have allergies to dander, the lack of an undercoat in Balinese causes far less shedding than other breeds and reduces dander.  Perhaps more important, though, is the fact that, in comparison to most cats, the Balinese produces extremely low amounts of the
Fel d1 and Fel d4 protein allergens in their saliva.  It is with those proteins that most people with cat allergies have problems.
